2027 Algorithmic programming and Australian informatics olympiad competition

This class is designed to help students develop algorithmic thinking, problem comprehension, and problem-solving skills. These foundational abilities enable them to design efficient and correct algorithms—representing the highest level of programming expertise sought after by future employers.

Students may choose to register for the Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO) exam at the CodeKids testing Centre. Participation in the exam is optional; students are welcome to join simply to learn the concepts, without the pressure of assessment.

Objectives:
Develop algorithmic thinking, problem comprehension, and problem-solving skills essential for tackling complex challenges.
Learn to create efficient and correct algorithms, a critical skill sought after by future employers.
Prepare for national-level competitions, including the prestigious Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO).  By the end of the one-year program, students will have gained the skills and confidence to excel in algorithmic programming and national competitions, while also building a strong foundation for future opportunities in programming, problem-solving, and beyond.

Prerequisite:

Students are expected to have basic fluency with Python syntax. Beginner-level Python students or above are welcome to enrol.
