Class Details
Python Club is designed to introduce fundamental coding concepts and the Python programming language to your child. Students will learn how to write Python code, solve problems using programming, and create basic programs. Students will also learn how to use Python to code and create fun games.
Python is particularly suitable for this age group because it is concise, easy to read and has multiple applications in the real world such as web development, app development and other scientific uses. It is one of the most popular programming languages in the world and is widely used by leading tech companies including Google, Amazon and Facebook.
The Python Club aims to do the following:
Programming concepts, such as variables, data types, and control structures
Python programming language and its syntax
Input/output operations and working with text files
Functions and modular programming
Object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts in Python
Graphical user interface (GUI) programming using Pygame
Game development using Pygame
To master the concepts and techniques, we recommend that students study at the club for one to two years.
Course name: Python Club at Perth Modern School (Intermediate levels)
Class time: 10:00am – 11:00am (every Saturday)

Prerequisite:
Completion of the Python Club (Beginner Level) or equivalent.
Equipment:
Students are advised to bring a laptop to class.
Students can lend one from CodeKids for $100 per term.
